I was expecting with all her loss in the first book Lily’s character would grow out of the pettiness and jealousies but she hasn’t. I was ecstatic about getting out of Lily’s head. Luckily in this book we get to not only see Lily’s POV as sister #1 but also Evelyn’s! Ok so this book was lacking all the incredible myth and history of the first book which makes sense, since the first book is a where your building takes place, but I realized I was missing it. The continuation of the Starseed Trilogy does not disappoint, and I am looking forward to the final book in this dark magical tale. Souls of Three is filled with Irish myth and exceptional settings and is sure to entice readers who love witchy reads, fateful romance, betrayal, and heroines who are strong yet flawed. McLeo seamlessly continues the story in this book, opening the plot further, rounding out characters, and creating a backstory that helps alleviate any reader questions from book one.
Fast-paced and loaded with action and twists Souls of Three will keep the reader engaged until the last page has turned. Darker characters and subject matter bring a raw, enigmatic tone to the storyline. The series takes on a darker tone in this book with the sisters marred by danger, and betrayal. The interaction of her characters is exciting and interesting as each brings a special dynamic to the story. McLeo has used her multitude of characters effectively creating allies and enemies, victims, and heroes born from destiny, tragedy, and circumstance. The entities who have infiltrated the modern world are well-rounded and bring an otherworldly essence to a story already filled with paranormal and magical creatures. A relationship that puts both her and her magical family in peril and introduces a host of new characters and settings.
The focus of book two is Evelyn, the sexy, rich siren who runs her family’s business and falls for a handsome stranger. Lily is tortured by grief, Evelyn is feeling shackled by her new destiny, and Sara is trying her best to keep the peace between her sisters. In this dark urban fantasy, the three witch sisters are exploring their new powers and trying to find how to fit into their newly discovered magical world.
